Christian Baseball

A Rational Being's picture

Ed Fitzgerald, a little known blogger at Unfutz has a nice series on the Colorado Rockies.

It seems that the Rockies announced that they are a Christian Baseball Team. Ed, an avid baseball fan (and an atheist), wondered how that was working out for them.

We all know the answer, but check out Ed's site and his analysis. It would appear that there is a reverse correlation between baseball success and christian decision making.

Since I am a Red Sox fan, I guess that means I should start praying for the Yankees to win. :-)

I kind of liked Angels

If only for seeing the same guy who played Doc in Back to the Future playing in it. That movie taught me a valueable lesson; never watch a movie just because an actor you like is in it.

Strange enough...

Im fairly certain the only reason I watched it was because Doc was in it too...

Oppressed Majority

This is what Rockies chairman and CEO Charlie Monfort had to say about it:

"We started to go after character six or seven years ago, but we didn't follow that like we should have. I don't want to offend anyone, but I think character-wise we're stronger than anyone in baseball. Christians, and what they've endured, are some of the strongest people in baseball. I believe God sends signs, and we're seeing those."

So WTF have Christians in this country had to endure because of their faith?

And those signs God is sending? If he is calling pitches for you, you better replace him because your team has done nothing but sucked as of lately.

Question for Charlie Monfort

Read Bruce 8/21/06 Oppressed Majority and am anxious to hear in what form God sends signs. Has Mr Monfort ever received such signs? In what form are they conveyed? Thanks Douglas DeConnick deconnick2003@yahoo.com

I think...

they need a new practice strategy. Maybe...practicing instead of praying. It reminds me of that one really horrible more Angels in the Outfield that just made me shake my head in shame for the majority of the film.
