Your Mind is Lost Because Your Spirit has been Lead Astray
Submitted by Kian on October 4, 2006 - 2:11pm.This is actually a post of my brothers that I thought was interesting.
In the middle of the fit everyone is having over religion, I struggle to gain my own understandings and insights into spirituality. I wonder if things like the theory of evolution, abortion, and gay rights were issues a decade and a half ago, and I was just too young to notice or care about them,
or if they're a new phenomenon and I'm caught in the middle trying to sort things out for myself - because very few - if not no one - seems to be making enough sense for me to listen.
Don't get me wrong, I know the Earth is a few billion years old (not a few thousand), I know everyone (woman or otherwise - sexually or otherwise) should have a choice on what to do with their body -- I know that everyone follows their own path. My confusion lays with the growing number of atheists, scientists, and scholars who are very much ready to throw the baby out with the bath water and reject anything religious outright.
To be able to go though life with the idea that we are alone, that we are a chance genetic mutation, that when we die that's the end of our existence -- is unacceptable to me. I know in the very core of my being there's more to the story than we've been able to scientifically uncover thus far.
That stinks, extincts
Submitted by Kian on July 20, 2006 - 9:31pm.The big news behind biodiversity today is the current call for the establishing of an Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity (IPB). There has been an undeniable trend recently calling for people to take serious deliberation to the fact that we are losing biodiversity faster than ever before. The two mega faunas that were most recently added to the biodiversity list are the polar bear and the hippo.
[link] “The planet is losing species faster than at any time since 65 million years ago, when the earth was hit by an enormous asteroid that wiped out thousands of animals and plants, including the dinosaurs. Scientists estimate that the current rate at which species are becoming extinct is between 100 and 1,000 times greater than the normal "background" extinction rate - and say this is all due to human activity.”
Adhering to the name "America Junior"

I had a pithy moment in the past summer when I didn’t hate Stephen Harper and what he was/is doing to Canada. However, as his governance of Canada continues he grows more and more into the mirror image of George Double-Ya, which does not extend the list of commendable things he’s doing/has done. Most recently Harper took a position on the Hezbollah crisis that deteriorates Canada’s typical stance as being neutral and playing peace keeper.
Instead Harper said:
[Link] "Israel has the right to defend itself,"
He would not comment on specific incidents or strikes by the Israelis. But his comments clearly show that his government is unequivocal in its support of Israel.
"I think Israel's response under the circumstances has been measured, and I think it is tremendously disappointing that these attacks were done in areas that Israel voluntarily evacuated."
And of course we all recognize where Bushy-Poo stands on the whole situation.
