Turkish TV gameshow looks to convert atheists

STANBUL (Reuters) – What happens when you put a Muslim imam, a Christian priest, a rabbi and a Buddhist monk in a room with 10 atheists?

Turkish television station Kanal T hopes the answer is a ratings success as it prepares to launch a gameshow where spiritual guides from the four faiths will seek to convert a group of non-believers.

The prize for converts will be a pilgrimage to a holy site of their chosen religion -- Mecca for Muslims, the Vatican for Christians, Jerusalem for Jews and Tibet for Buddhists.

Hmm . . . no, I can't see where someone would lie about being either an atheist to begin with, or about their "conversion", just to get a free trip out of the deal (not to mention the fame from being on TV). Nope, can't see that happening at all.

I'm wondering

I'm wondering if the "atheists" will have special protection as they come and go to the studio.

Reverse victory

There ought to be a prize for converting one of the shamans to atheism!

Well clearly theists wouldn't lie about that

Well clearly theists wouldn't lie about that, they're much too moral. It's only because you're an atheist that you came up with such a horrible suggestion. As for atheists lying about a conversion for a free trip, well that's absurd too. Why would an atheist ever want to go to any of those places? Even if we could get a vacation from our jobs grinding up babies for their stem cells, those locations would keep us from our favorite past times of constant drug use and gay sex. Though I suppose it may be real conducive to corrupting believers.
