Is there something wrong with me . . .
. . . that the news of the death of Michael Jackson has had this song playing in my head all morning?

MJ was a straight up weirdo.

Anyone else...
I can only wonder if ANYONE else on earth could have survived all the accusations of child molestation and remained popular.
Anyone else's face would have been plastered on every telephone pole in his neighborhood warning parents of his existence. It wouldn't have even required proof in most cases, just the suspicion. What privileged air Michael Jackson breathed.
In all honesty, I don’t believe that he was a classic molester, but a truly screwed up child who was still (as presented in the Onion article) 12 years old (if that) when he died at 50.
We all played “doctor” as children in one form or another, and he most likely was still, in his own mind, every bit as innocent (in all ways) as I was at 6. And considering how everything in his life except performing was done for him, he might have been correct.
Probably not as bad as me
Probably not as bad as me thinking what great nipples Farrah had when I heard of her death.
He's the obituary from The Onion, they might have outdone us both.
King of Pop Dead At 12
LOS ANGELES—Michael Jackson, a talented child performer known for his love of amusement park rides and his hobby of collecting exotic animals for his Neverland Ranch, died from sudden cardiac arrest Thursday at the age of 12. The prepubescent singer, who enjoyed playing dress-up and often referred to himself as "the King of Pop," was celebrated for his naïve exuberance and his generosity toward other children. "This is a terrible loss for music and for all of us," brother Jermaine Jackson said. "He had so much potential to blossom into a gracious and mature human being. As it is, the world will never know the genius Michael Jackson might have become had he grown up." The singer leaves behind a large body of hits, 25,000 unopened toys, and nearly $400 million of debt.
Gotta love ...

Could be worse
You could have worse songs playing in your head. For me it was Ding-Dong! The Witch is Dead. All bloody day.

Yes, but it's the kind of wrong I like in a person. ;-)
On a related note, last night I was talking to my boyfriend about Jackson's two acquittals on pedophilia charges, and how I personally think he was guilty. BF replied that he'd heard many of Jackson's friends say they just can't believe he was capable of molesting kids. I replied that there was once a time when no one could believe Catholic priests were capable of molesting kids either, so you can't judge by appearances, line of work, or whether someone just "doesn't seem capable." He got annoyed and said of course priests are capable of molesting kids! I think the BF missed my point, although his indignation was rather amusing.

It's like neighbors of serial killers saying, "He was a quiet man. Pretty much kept to himself."
Hmm...
I'm kind of quiet (stop laughing, I mean in real life) and I keep to myself.
