The Christian Goose And The Atheist Gander
I was reading about college football star Tim Tebow and the John 3:16 reference painted beneath his eyes.
[William Lobdell] But I have to wonder if his coaches or NCAA officials would allow him to have “There Is” “No God” written on his eye black below his right and left eyes. I imagine that these personal slogans will soon be banned. The Powers That Be in football were never much for personal expression.
I wondered the same thing, so let's give it a shot:
What do you think, Christians? Make your head want to explode? Do you think that the college football uniform rules would be changed? When? The same day? Two days?
And here's the bigge - why is it OK in your opinion for Tebow to write John 3:16 under his eyes (and usually back it up with "personal opinion" and "freedom of speech and religion"), but NOT OK for him to write "There is no God"?
What's good for the Christian goose, is certainly also good for the atheist gander, yes?

Don't follow this god's example.
It's a pretty sick kind of "love" when you have to torture and sacrifice a family member to appease your own anger over the failures of your poorly created objects. It's also barbaric to hold someone accountable for someone else's crime or to punish them for it.
Any person who followed the example of this divine character would be treated as a twisted psychopath or heinous criminal in today's civilized countries. If you want to love your fellow humans then do not follow the example set by the Jewish/Christian/Islamic Yahweh god.

I thought people like you were just a joke. At first I laughed at you but as I write this I'm just irritated that you exist. Morals and patriotism do not come from religion. We no longer stone people. Women are equals. Its ok to eat seafood. I dare say hating other American citizens for their choice of religion (or lack of) is "anti-American". America was founded because of religious intolerance in England. Please be more patriotic :) I realize that the person who originally wrote this comment will probably never read this but I hope everyone who read this understands that it is not ok to make unfounded or blatantly false claims about anybody, much less a whole group.

If you don't recall, religion has been the largest oppressor in all history.
Don't get all butt hurt that science finally is undoing what religion messed in the first place. Why do you think the middle east is so underdeveloped? Islam. I'm not a scholar on Islam, but I've done two tours in different countries, and the only thing keeping dumdums dumb is their absolute devotion to their religion, nothing more.
Keep thinking that you are the right religion and keep your opinions about it to yourself. Nothing ever good came from religion that science can't do/prove/teach...
Worship your deity and hush. You don't have to fight for it. Nothing ever came from that either...
