Maybe we should start a chapter?
Oh boy! Thanks to MeFi, I've found out about this great alternative to that "politically correct" organization for children called the Boy Scouts of America: Keepers of the Faith clubs for boys and girls! Wow, you can learn about and get merit badges for such cool things as 'Bible Memory' and 'Insects'! Here's a great description from their brochure:
How is Keepers at Home and Contenders for the Faith different?
Why not step beyond a politically correct scouting program in which a Christian might not feel completely comfortable at activities, or with the materials furnished by a central committee? Are you tired of pretending to be neutral? Give your children a program that Jesus could join. These programs are specifically for Christians.
But even better, right up front they say that the program can be incorporated into any home or church-based curricula, and that "Clubs are autonomous (exempt from external influence)." This is a great opportunity for us folks at the Evil Atheist Conspiracy to create our own chapter in order to subvert the minds of more little kids! Or maybe I should send some info to the folks I met at the Heinlein Centennial this last weekend, who are part of the Church of All Worlds. I'm sure they'd love to start their own chapter of both Keepers at Home and Contenders fof the Faith!
(Extra bonus: be sure to check out the super clothing designs for these great kids clubs - they're even available in sizes for adults!)

I like it
We could call it something like "Keepers of Reality." I like it!
Its sad when something is
Its sad when something is not discriminatory, hateful, and illogical enough...
BSA Politically Correct?
Are they talking about the same Boys Scouts of America that openly discriminates against gays?
This is similar to the Christian Exodus folks who think the country has become too secular.
Sigh...
Yeah, I had to laugh...
...at the exact same thing, Barry.
