Do you wanna know just how valued democracy is on the far Right? Here's a clue:
If Republicans end up with a divided convention between Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani, I say we pick Gen. Pervez Musharraf.
Musharraf has declared emergency rule in Pakistan, shut down the media and sent Supreme Court justices home. What's not to like about a guy who orders policemen to beat up lawyers? I bet he has a good plan on illegal immigration, too.

You wouldn't know it to read the headlines, but Musharraf has not staged a military coup. In fact, he was re-elected -- in a landslide -- just weeks ago under Pakistan's own parliamentary system.
But the Pakistani Supreme Court, like our own Supreme Court, believes it is above the president and refused to acknowledge Musharraf's election on the grounds that he is disqualified because he is still wearing a military uniform. That's when Musharraf sent them home.

This should come as very little surprise, given her love of authoritarians everywhere, so long as they aren't of the wrong religion or sitting atop a bunch of oil we want. The Republicans do so love them a "strong man" who is unafraid to resort to emergency decrees and bust some heads when necessary. Man, you can almost hear her plea for W to "do the right thing" and declare martial law here in the US, teach us peons a lesson or two. Seriously, it takes very little imagination to read this column as a template for justifying similar actions here in the US. How much would she really need to change?
So yeah, you wanna know how much the rightists value democracy? Just read what they write - it's all right there.

Kind of ironic...
Don't you think? If only our own supreme court had done their job during the 2000 election giveaway, we might all have been spared the last seven years of mass murder, corruption, and treasonous attacks on our constitution.
We have already had a pro-torture Attorney General, a torture allowing and constitution shredding supreme court, and a congress who would approve a war on chocolate chip cookies on the word of a gun salesman while wiping their asses on the bill of rights.
I guess Coulter won't be happy until Der Fuhrer sits in uncontestable might, with her as his right hand advisor. Of course when that happens, women won't be allowed in government buildings anymore, so I guess she'll be shit outta luck.
One more thought...
Isn't it amazing how the lunatic extreme right fawns over Musharraf and condemns Hugo Chavez as the very embodiment of evil, when they are doing pretty much the same thing.

After all, they aren't doing the same thing. Hugo Chavez called Bush a great big poopoo face whereas Musharraf is our ally on the war on terror (aka smaller nations with oil/pocket money).

Honestly, I think it is largely an act, one she knows will keep the likes of us riled up and the faithful buying her crappy books. And while I admire the entrepreneurial spirit, there are some types of fire you just shouldn't play with.
