CENTERTON, Ark. -- The mayor of an Arkansas town resigned on Wednesday, claiming he was abducted and brainwashed by Satan worshippers nearly three decades ago.
Centerton Mayor Ken Williams said he has been living under an assumed name for nearly 30 years. He had been mayor since 2001.
Oh yeah, I believe him. Because there are just packs of Satan Worshipers running around the Ozarks. I've seen 'em. There are times when you can't risk going into the woods, or the Devil's minions will nab you, force you to change your name and move, avoiding the expense of divorce and child support payments. Man, sometimes they're just thick as deer ticks - it's awful!

Good gosh. I read the story. Truth serum? Multiple shock treatments?
Okay, this guy DEFINITELY has some issues.
The final line of the story, though, says "According to police, Williams is under no investigation for any wrongdoing."
Um ... bigamy? Abandonment? Child support? Maybe insurance fraud? The story does say he had a wife and two kids, and he now has ANOTHER wife.
And here's one of the really funky things about having religion in your head: This guy is either mentally ill or a bare-faced liar, but most people will probably either believe his devil-kidnapping story, or at least give him the benefit of the doubt. Whereas some other guy who committed the same act, but was at least HONEST ENOUGH TO SIMPLY ADMIT IT, would have been instantly arrested, gone to trial, gotten fined and imprisoned, and had both families on his ass with needle-sharp teeth.
