COTG 94 - At Hank's Place!
The 94th Carnival Of The Godless is posted over at Hank's place - Earthman's Notebook. Check it out!
Also - I need hosts, people. There are only two more hosts in the queue, which means that a month from now the COTG could end, before it even gets to the 100th edition.
There are plenty of atheist blogs out there now. If you have a new or new-ish atheist blog, and you are looking to get some great exposure and bump your hit count through the roof, volunteer to host the COTG. I'll put you on the hosting list and get you set up. Email me at brent.rasmussen@gmail.com and request a hosting slot. If you want a specific date, let me know that as well. Remember we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas coming up!

Hosting COTG - What's involved
first up, well done to Hank for Hosting COTG #94, I agree with him, I think you should host the 100th.
Hosting a COTG sounds like a good idea, but after seeing Hank's I wonder how much work is involved. I also wonder if people are put off volunteering to host becasue they are unsure what is involved?
Perhaps you could have a page with details of what's involved in hosting a COTG?
Anyway, I'll send an email tonight offering my services for hosting a COTG.
Re: How Much Work Involved
If you get 40 submissions, and you put it off to the last night, it will probably seem like a heckuva lot of work.
HOWEVER ... if you get 40 entries, and just take a few minutes each night or so to process the ones that came in, it's no trouble at all.
I don't know about anyone else, but I just read each day's submissions (they're mostly short) as they came in and posted them on a draft page on my blog, and by the night it was to be posted, all I had to do was click to make a live blog entry.
You can add editorial comments to each listed link if you like, or just post the list. You can even reject ones that don't pass whatever standards you have (I'm inclined to fail on the "kind" side.)
You get to read them all before the public does (at least in aggregate form), and you get the pleasure of picking one or two of your own to add in. You get more traffic to your blog. And if you're up for it, you can add your own artistic efforts to the formatting (including a little icon or some such with each one, say).
It's pretty simple. And pretty cool. I enjoyed it immensely, and don't know why I didn't volunteer earlier.
Carnival of the Godless
Brent, I enjoyed hosting COTG 94, and it brought some traffic to my site. I wouldn't mind hosting again sometime soon.
I think it's fitting that COTG 100 should be right here with its founder. I'd be glad to guest host here, if necessary.
