Carnival Of The Godless - Will The 104th Edition Be The Last Edition?
Back in early January of 2005 I created the Carnival Of The Godless, then hosted the 1st Edition later that same month on January 30th.
For close to four years now it has been a dynamic and vital blog carnival. It has pulled in excellent examples of godless writing from all parts of the planet. I also like to think that it was instrumental in ushering in a global and almost organic organization of godless blogs, websites, commentators, authors, and social networks.
But it's all about to end.
I have never had any trouble rounding up hosts until the last year or so. Which is ironic given the explosion in atheist and godless-themed blogs recently.
However, I have exactly ONE more COTG in the pipe for this weekend, November 9, 2008, and then - nothing. No one has volunteered to host after that.
So, there are two things that I would like to ask the godless community:
1. Do you want the COTG to continue? If so, I need hosts. Lots of hosts. If you'd like to host a future COTG, please send your host requests to me at brent dot rasmussen at gmail dot com.
2. Is anyone interested in taking over the reigns of the COTG? It's not a lot of work, but I've been doing it for four years now, and I've had just about enough. I'll keep doing it until someone steps forward and agrees to take on the responsibility. Please don't agree to do it as a lark. If you'd like to take over, send me an email (see my gmail address above) and lets talk about it a bit. Ideally I'd like for the person to be an established godless blogger who would take it seriously and work hard at advertising/cajoling. :)
So, there you go. The COTG is in your hands.

I'll bake brownies.
Damn! I missed this year's skipped (?) event. I will bake brownies for next year's event, or anything that comes up between now and then. HLM
I am not sure what this is
I am not sure what this is about, or even if it's still running, but I am willing to help out if possible. What do I need to do?
I'll host one.
I've got a relatively new and unknown blog that is as atheistic as I can make it. If you need a host in December or later, let me know.
I'd be willing to host
I am a loudmouthed atheist who would love to host a carnival of the godless on my blog. While my blog contains posts on several dozen different topics in addition to atheism and godlessness, my godlessness should be pretty apparent in most of the unrelated posts as well. If this is OK with you, count me in.
Need An Email Address
Hi GeekGrrrl - I will need an email address to send the submissions to before I can get you set up as a host. If you are concerned about anonymity, please email me privately at brent dot rasmussen at gmail dot com.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you all for the response! I'll get you all set up as hosts as soon as I can - probably on Monday.
State of Protest will host again
I'd be happy to host again.

Willing to host
I run a feminist blog and would happy to host a Carnival of the Godless if you don't mind a non-atheist blog hosting (I do discuss atheist topics from time to time). The post wouldn't have to have an intersection between feminism and atheism - I'm totally up for breaking my theme for an all-atheist series of posts. So if you're okay with a non-atheist-themed host (although the host herself is an atheist), then let me know.
Thanks, but...
Hi earlgreyrooibos - thank you for the offer, but I'll also need an email address to send the submissions to. I looked on your blog but could not find an email address for you anywhere. If you are concerned about anonymity, then please email me privately at brent dot rasmussen at gmail dot com.
Also, by what name or handle do you go by on your blog? I could not find that listed anywhere either. Or is it "earlgreyrooibos"? (How exactly do you pronounce that?) :)
Thanks!
I'll host
You can put my name down as a host.
I'll do it again!
I've hosted it before (#95 I believe) and I'm always happy to host it again! Put me in the reserves box :D

I don't do much on-the-topic
I don't do much on-the-topic blogging, but I read it and I'm always up to host.

I'll give it a shot
Never hosted anything before, but I'm willing to participate
COTG Host
Check your mailbox. I've volunteered too.
Happy to help
I've volunteered.
I'm surprised
that you're having difficulty finding hosts for this. I would think that with the atheist blogroll nearing 1000 blogs, individual bloggers would be looking for something like this to help stand out a little.
I hesitate to volunteer to take it on, though, since I've kind of got my hands full with organizing the exmo blogs into Outer Blogness...
