Was that Atheist or A theist?
Bright sounds entirely too angelic or something. Gives me the willies.
Atheist/Non-theist...same thing, no?
I'm an atheist, but I usually tell Christians I'm a pagan. (Only because it illicits a more entertaining reaction.)
I like the Frank option, but since I'm female it just didn't seem a viable answer.
What do I call myself?
I call myself an atheist because I like putting my finger in the eye of the whole Christian establishment and most particularly in the eye of the denizens of God's Own Republican party.
I actually call myself a
I actually call myself a secular humanist...
The Church Triumphant
I'm with the Apathetic Agnostics; I don't know and I don't care.
i often call my self an
i often call my self an athiest but i prefer to simply state that god does not exist.
it makes it a statement of fact rather than a belief for one thing and for two athiest always sounds (too mee) like defining myself through what i oppose rather than what i am or believe
My Label?
I am an Indifferentist: I don't care if there is a deity or not. The only thing that strikes me as more stupid then arguing about religion is atheists arguing about their lack of same! (not that this goes on here, but yes, I really have heard people trying to pull a "more unholier than thou" schtik)
I have to second what NoMore said...
about "Bright" - it sounds stilted, contrived, pompous - no way in hell, man. "Atheist" is a perfectly good, descriptive word and we need to reclaim it from the associations that have been tacked on by the sheeple.
I call myself an atheist
At times I also call myself a very naughty boy-girl, but in my more lucid moments I realize it's about as sensible as calling myself a Fields Medalist.
I call myself a freethinker
I can't imagine calling myself a "bright", it sounds incredibly pompous and arrogant in a juvenile way. Anyway, I try to think for myself rather than going with the herd, and this is what leads me to atheism as well as to my beliefs in politics etc. So for me, being an independent thinker is more fundamental than being an atheist.
- No More Mr. Nice Guy!
Added "Freethinker" and "Non-Theist"
...just for you, NMMNG. ;)
A rose by any other name
Love the site! Thanks for the poll!
I read somewhere of a man who called himself an "evidentialist" because he only believed in things for which there was evidence. I've also used "unchurched" and my personal favorite, "non-Christian".
Added the new choices.
Hi All,
I just added apatheist, un-churched, pagan to piss off Christians, non-christian, secular humanist, and evidentialist. If you want to change you vote, let me know in a reply to this comment.
Anti-Theism
Given the fundamentals crowding civilisation into a corner I have recently upgraded from simple Atheism too full on Anti-theism - we neeed to defend the enlightenment!

Er...
... I think you can probably guess which one I chose. Heh.
Atheist here!
Atheist here!
Sane
I describe myself with the same term we use for people that don't believe in unicorns.
All or Nothing
I chose all of the above because I try to refrain from putting myself in a pigeonhole that could be used to identify me. Since I may learn something new tomorrow that could possibly change my description of myself and I have been accused of all the available options, all of the above seems the only appropriate response.
Atheist
Although- I did meet an apatheist once: he said that there may or may not be a God, but it's obvious that He doesn't give a shit about us, so why should he care about Him?
